Using credit is ultimately about making choices: when to use it, when not to use it, how to use it. The choices you make about credit today can have a big impact on your life down the road.

Glacier Hills Credit Union is pleased to offer a youth credit card program for students to help encourage responsible choices about using credit. Here’s how the program works:

  • We will issue a credit card with a $300 limit to working students age 16 and 17
  • The card has no annual fee or cash advance fee, and a $15 late and over-the-limit fee
  • While we are not asking for a cosigner, we are requiring parent permission
  • Each student will be required to complete a self study on credit and a pass a credit test before we issue the card
  • While it is not required, we welcome you to meet with a loan officer to discuss the responsibilities of owning a credit card
To participate in the program, please stop by any one of our branches and pick up an application.
