Glacier Hills Credit Union is owned and operated by everyday people for the benefit of everyday people, and we’re proud that we can make a difference in peoples lives each and every day.

The Farmers Got it Right. Back in the 1800s, a group of farmers were ruined by drought and couldn’t afford the outrageous rates that banks were charging for a loan. They got smart and realized they could pool their own money and take out the middleman – the banks. This is how credit unions started, and it’s the foundation that credit unions stand on today.

The “Fee” Word. Credit Unions were born out of a need to improve the lives of their members – not look for new ways to “fee” them every day. That’s why you’ll find lower fees at the credit union.

Serving the Underserved. Credit unions provide outreach to people of modest means, serve youth and seniors and provide low fee alternatives to help members improve their financial well-being. Credit unions may also offer beneficial products and services that banks wouldn’t because they are considered unprofitable.

You Own the Place. Every member is an equal owner at the credit union. There is no middleman. Whether you have $5 or $5million at the credit union, you are an equal owner. You also have the right to an equal vote at the Glacier Hills Annual Meeting, where you can learn how the credit union is doing, ask questions to the Board of Directors, and vote on any issues that may require a membership vote (such as election of new board members).

Can I join?
Membership is open to anyone who lives or works in Milwaukee, Washington, Ozaukee, Waukesha, Dodge or Fond du Lac Counties in the State of Wisconsin.
